Painted skies, indoor canals and a casino so big the hours slip by. The Venetian shows Cotai at its most ambitious.

Inside the house

The Venetian Macao opened on the Cotai Strip in 2007 and is still among the largest casino resorts on the planet. Everything is oversized, from the lobby to the painted ceilings that keep the shopping arcades in a permanent Venetian afternoon.

Every room is a suite with a sunken lounge set apart from the bedroom, so it works well for longer stays or families who need a bit of breathing room.

The casino floor is immense and open around the clock, with tables, slots and private rooms for premium players. Macau limits casino entry to visitors aged 21 and over, so ID checks at the door are routine.

Away from the floor you can take a gondola along the indoor canals, see a concert at the resort's arena, or follow the covered walkways to the neighbouring Cotai resorts.
